We invite our Women in Philanthropy supporters to join in on an hour-long WIP Virtual Meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. for an opportunity to hear from the top applicants being considered to receive a $10,000 grant from Women in Philanthropy to provide emergency support for women during the COVID-19 crisis.

The finalists—Women’s Resource Center, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Outreach – Center for Community Resources—will present during this virtual meeting, and, as a WIP supporter, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and vote on which organization should receive the $10,000 grant.

Because of the generous support from WIP supporters, WIP will provide $20,000 in grants this year (two $10,000 grants) to nonprofit organizations serving the needs of low-to-moderate-income women, girls, and their families during the COVID-19 outbreak. One $10,000 grant will be awarded to an organization providing front line, critical services for women and girls during this crisis. Another $10,000 grant will support virtual learning in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) fields, particularly during this unique time when women and families are required to oversee education in the home. Many nonprofit organizations are applying for these grants. These grants will be reviewed and voted on by WIP supporters on two different virtual meetings. The first virtual meeting will take place this Wednesday and we hope you’ll join us!

We are still soliciting applications for the virtual learning grant and will provide an update on this as soon as we are ready to move to the next steps.

 During this first virtual meeting, we will also provide an update and overview of the women supported by the WIP Business Relief Fund.

The WIP Virtual Meeting will take place via Zoom. To assist you with navigating this Zoom webinar, we have put together a tutorial to help you use all of the available features. We highly recommend that anyone unfamiliar with Zoom take a minute to review this quick resource so that you can be a full and active participant.
